Next up is The Trammps. The obvious cracker on this is “Rubber Band”, as sampled by Dilla, Game, etc, “Pray all ye sinners”, “Zing went the strings” and “60 minute man” are all good too, the former sounding quite similar to “Rubber Band”, but in a good way. There’s also “Hold Back the Night” but that’s a bit cheesy for me. Mixed by Tom Moulton, hence “Tom’s song” one of the instrumental cuts on the LP.
Here’s “Zing went the strings of my heart”, renamed on this LP to “Penguin at the Big Apple”:
ahh yeah sweet sounds... sammy d put that 'rubber band' on one of his mp3 cd's (now pimp'd up to dvd status)... mary j blige used it on a track too a couple of lps back real nice... big up the selection mr d
