So do you wanna go…to the disco – o – o
‘Course you do.
So, here’s a post for the disco lovers amongst you, with a great night out, and five, count them, FIVE, re-edits for you to download.
First, the night.
When you hear of an all-disco evening, your mind inevitably turns to thoughts of Brutus Gold, wacky flares and afro wigs, and a load of students dancing ironically or otherwise to ‘Stayin’ Alive’. Well fuck that, obviously.
Northern Disco is as far from that as you can imagine; more Bianca Jagger being led in on a white horse by a naked man (this never really happened, our lawyers have asked us to mention), dwarves with plates of cocaine on their heads, mirror balls, balloons, and the best disco you’ve never heard before. Seriously. Kon (& Amir), Rahaan, Dimitri from Paris, Victor Rosado, Monk One have all joined regular Al Kent (of Million Dollar Disco fame) behind the decks and seen a crowd of disco faithful go bonkers all night long.
Well, it’s been a while since the last one on Easter Sunday, but next weekend it’s finally time to put on the afro wig (joke) and go mental (no joke) to the sounds of Northern Disco.

The Roadhouse has been one of the best venues in the City for live music and club nights (most of Manchester’s main club nights over the years have held a residency here at some point) for over 15 years. An awesome dark basement venue, with an exceptional sound system, and just the right side of underground sweatiness for clubbers to forget the world and get lost in the music for 5 or 6 hours…
