Guess who’s back? It’s the cat-in-the-hat, Andy Madhatter back for a third tea party. Partly because we love him so, and partly in order to preview his forthcoming Saturday night residency at, and indeed managerial takeover of, The Voodoo Lounge, we thought it high time for a return visit from the veteran soulster.
Supplying quality grooves to the hungry Manchester public by virtue of numerous club nights (Precinct 13, Gallery), releases and production duties (Roy Ayers/Kleer/etc) and stints behind the counter for One Way and Vox Pop he’s been a figure on the soul scene for a good 20-odd years now and boasts a formidable, wide-ranging armoury of classics and lesser-spotted gems, with which he’s delighted us on both his previous visits.
A splendid opportunity to hear both the past, present and future of soulful goodness in comfortable surroundings and, as ever, freemans. Playing Alice, The March Hare and the sleepy mouse-type will be some or all of the Northern Comfort residents Catcalledmorris, Robd, Sad Eagle, Treva Whateva and Andy Vee. Be sure to join us!
