Weekend fun, and big up Agent J and Groovement!

Easy – and welcome to Friday.
So, we had a nice relaxed afternoon with the fine upstanding gentleman that is Agent J and Groovement in the Unity Radio studios last Sunday; catcalledmorris and I played back to back for 2 hours, with soul, funk, library, jazz, breaks, brazilian etc etc. If you missed it, you’re in luck, you can have a listen or download the podcast here. Thanks again for having us on!
This weekend, the only thing you should be GUARANTEED to do is come down to the Salutation Pub in Manchester’s Hulme, (just behind the RNCM) where me, catcalledmorris, Sad Eagle and the might Andy Madhatter will be playing only vinyl, all night. We’ve been going for nearly 2 years at the Sally, and we’ve had DOMU, Mr Scruff, hoya:hoya, Al Kent, Hewan Clake, Mike Chadwick, Darren Laws, Treva Whateva, Martin Brew, Andrea Trout, Lil’ Minx, Jon K, Kelvin Brown & Marc Rowlands on, all playing whatever they want for the night. And it’s all free, which isn’t bad for a Saturday night is it?
Andy Madhatter is a Manchester soul head/dj/producer/record shop chap who’s worked with Kleer & Roy Ayers amongst others; has produced numerous tracks and remixes; managed and worked in countless record shops and looked after a large number of clubs and club nights, the infamous Precinct 13 being one of them. He’s one of the unsung heroes of the Manchester Black music scene and has influenced a lot of people in Manchester, and beyond, over the years.
Saturday sees him making a record third appearance at Northern Comfort with a vinyl-only set; come and see him now before he begins his latest challenge, the reinvigoration of the Bookbinders club into the Voodoo Lounge in Manchester. Don’t miss!
