Web design and WordPress theme for M62 Location Scout

Another new web design from us, this time for Manchester based M62 Location Scout. An adaptation of an existing WordPress theme, so a quick and easy job, but I still like it – a nice clean web design!

It was definitely a fun one to work on, not least because of the challenge of working completely remotely (we’re based in Manchester, UK, they’re based in, well, China Village!). Was good to work on it though, and I think we got a good website design and site out of it.

Emily, the site owner, had this to say about working with us:

I came to Rob on a recommendation and couldn’t be happier about the way my blog redesign turned out. Initially, I was a little nervous about working with a designer who had never met me in person and about working with someone located in another country, but neither of those issues ever caused a problem. Rob responded quickly to my questions and the entire redesign was finished much more quickly than I had thought possible. He was also very understanding when I wanted to make some major design changes midway through! All in all, fast, professional, affordable and flexible.

All the artwork is based on two different library records; one from De Wolfe and one from KPM, and all the discolourations, rips, folds, tea stains, etc, are all part of the image, even down to the print effect of the green on the KPM background (rather than just have a block of green and trust that the printer would have the same effect as the original, we used the original as a scanned basis for the colour block.)

Was a fun one to work on – spending a LOT of time adding in the little details which probably nobody noticed other than me and Trev. I’ll dig out the LP cover I did after this one too later; that was also a nice one.

Hey it’s not like that, come back! Hey. There, there. Have a bit of chocolate.

So yes, 2012. 2011 was cool, I set up as freelance completely, and we had a baby. So kind of busy. Bit sleepy.

This whole site’s getting redesigned soon, so ignore the whole ‘photos don’t quite fit in the frame’ thing. I’ll sort it soon.
